Email marketing is a powerful tool for brands looking to connect with their customers and drive sales. By delivering targeted and personalized messages directly to customers’ inboxes, email allows brands to build relationships, generate leads, and increase conversions. With the right strategies in place, utilizing email can be a cost-effective and efficient way to grow your brand and stay top of mind with your audience. In this article, we’ll delve deeper into the importance of email marketing for your brand.

What is email marketing?

As we briefly mentioned above, email marketing is sending targeted and personalized emails to customers and subscribers. These emails can include promotional offers, newsletters, announcements, and other content designed to engage and inform the customer or lead. Email marketing can be used to build relationships with customers, promote products and services, and drive traffic to the website. By delivering relevant and valuable content directly to the inbox of the customer, this can be a powerful tool for brands looking to connect with their audience and drive conversions.

Why is email marketing important for your brand?

More personal and engaging communications

Email marketing allows brands to have more personal, engaging, and relevant communications with their customers. This is achieved by delivering targeted and relevant messages directly to their inboxes. By segmenting email lists and creating customized content for each group, brands can deliver messages that speak directly to the interests and needs of their customers. From personalized subject lines to greetings, this personalized content helps to attention grab and make customers feel valued by the brand. For example, some brands offer tips on the product the customer just purchased, or how to increase its longevity. One of our favorites is to let customers know how their order positively impacted the planet and how their loyalty continues to do so.

Additionally, email marketing can send automated messages triggered by specific actions or behaviors. This automation can include abandoned cart reminders or post-purchase follow-ups, further enhancing communications. Overall, email enables brands to establish and strengthen relationships with customers through more personalized, relevant, and engaging communication. All of which help to drastically improve the customer’s lifetime value and customer retention.

It’s cost-effective

With increasing ad and acquisition costs, email marketing is a cost-effective way for brands to reach and engage with their target audience. Unlike traditional advertising methods, utilizing email requires very little investment in terms of upfront costs and ongoing maintenance. Most email marketing platforms offer flexible pricing models based on the size of the email list or the number of emails sent. This allows brands to choose a plan that best fits their budget. Additionally, this strategy offers a high return on investment (ROI) compared to other marketing channels, with an average ROI of $42 for every $1 spent. By creating targeted and relevant content and utilizing automation tools, brands can maximize their email marketing ROI while keeping costs low.

Klaviyo is one of our favorite Shopify apps to use for personalized communication, along with Recart for SMS marketing. Learn more about the top Shopify apps your brand should be leveraging.

Email is time-efficient

In addition to being cost-effective, email marketing is also a time-efficient way for brands to communicate with their audience. By segmenting email lists, creating automated workflows, and scheduling emails to be sent at specific times, brands can automate many aspects of the communication process. By automating these tasks, brands can save time and focus on other areas of their business, such as product development or customer service. Additionally, email marketing platforms offer robust analytics and reporting tools that help brands to measure the success of their campaigns and make data-driven decisions for future ones.

Easy to measure

As mentioned above, email marketing is easily measurable allowing brands to track the success of their campaigns and make data-driven decisions for future strategies. With email marketing software, brands can track metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and subscriber engagement. This data provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of the campaign and allows brands to make changes and improvements to optimize their marketing efforts. Additionally, A/B testing can be easily implemented to compare the performance of different subject lines, content, and designs. The ability to measure and analyze data in real-time allows brands to make informed decisions that can ultimately lead to increased sales and brand loyalty.

Integrates easily with other marketing efforts

Email seamlessly integrates with other marketing efforts, such as social media and content marketing, to create a cohesive and effective marketing strategy. For example, you can use email to promote your latest blog post or social media campaign and encourage your subscribers to engage with your brand across different channels. You can also use email to promote your products or services, with links back to your website. By integrating email with your other marketing efforts, you can amplify your message and reach your audience more effectively. Additionally, you can use email segments to tailor your messaging to specific groups, further enhancing the effectiveness of your overall marketing strategy.

More direct communication

With 91% of consumers using email, according to HubSpot, email marketing allows brands to communicate with their customers in a more direct and personal way than other forms of marketing. Unlike social media or display advertising, which may be ignored, email provides a direct line of communication that is more likely to be seen and engaged with by the recipient. Additionally, email allows for more two-way communication, as customers can easily reply to messages or click through to the website to learn more or make a purchase.

In Summary

In summary, email marketing is an incredibly powerful tool for brands to reach their target audience in a cost-effective, time-efficient, and personalized manner. It allows for easy integration with other marketing efforts and provides measurable results. This makes it an incredibly valuable addition to any marketing strategy. With its direct communication approach, brands can connect with their customers on a personal level and increase engagement, ultimately leading to higher conversions and increased revenue. Therefore, it is essential for brands to utilize email marketing as part of their overall marketing efforts to stay competitive in today’s digital landscape.

eCommerce seasonality refers to the fluctuations in customer purchasing behaviours throughout the year. The ability to better understand these fluctuations and plan accordingly helps brands to maintain a steady ROI throughout the year. In this article, we’ll dive deeper into eCommerce seasonality and how to get ahead.

What is eCommerce seasonality?

As we touched on above, eCommerce seasonality refers to the fluctuation in consumer demand and online sales that occur throughout the year in a predictable pattern. This pattern can be influenced by various factors such as holidays, seasons, events, and even weather conditions. Understanding eCommerce seasonality is important for brands as it can help them anticipate and prepare for periods of increased or decreased sales, adjust their marketing strategies, and optimize inventory management to meet customer demands. By analyzing historical data and trends, online retailers can identify peak sales periods and adjust their operations accordingly to maximize their revenue potential.

The importance of keywords in eCommerce seasonality

An effective way to highlight trends is to look at keywords used by target customers in their locations. By conducting keyword research, brands can identify the specific keywords and search phrases that customers are using to find products related to the season or event. This allows them to optimize their website content, product descriptions, and advertising campaigns with relevant keywords that will attract more targeted traffic and, in turn, increase sales. Additionally, tracking changes in keyword search volume over time can help brands anticipate and respond to shifts in consumer demand throughout the year, making keyword research an essential tool for eCommerce businesses looking to maximize their revenue potential.

For example, warm jackets were most searched during November and December, while keywords related to gifts were trending in the month of December for Christmas and the New Year. Of course, it’s crucial for brands to identify their own niche of seasonal events as not all may be relevant.

How to plan ahead for eCommerce seasonality?

There are several ways that brands can get ahead of eCommerce seasonality:

Analyze historical data

Brands can review past sales data to identify patterns and trends in consumer behavior. This data can provide insights into which products sell well during specific seasons or events and help brands anticipate future sales trends.

Monitor search trends

Brands can track the keyword search volume for relevant terms related to their products to identify when demand is increasing or decreasing. This data can help brands adjust their marketing strategies and product offerings accordingly.

Observe competitor activity

Monitoring competitors’ promotional activity and sales performance during peak seasons helps inform your own marketing strategies.

Conduct customer research

Brands can conduct surveys and focus groups to gain insights into customer preferences and behavior during specific seasons or events. This information can help brands tailor their product offerings and marketing messages to better meet customer needs.

How to prepare your brand for eCommerce seasonality?

After identifying the seasonal events relevant to your brand with the steps above, it’s crucial to ensure that your brand is well prepared for the increase in sales and traffic.

Adjust inventory levels

It’s essential for brands to ensure that they have sufficient inventory levels to meet expected demand during peak sales periods and plan to restock popular items as needed.

Optimize marketing strategies

Once your brand has monitored search trends and competitors’ activity, it is key to develop targeted marketing campaigns that leverage relevant keywords, messaging, and visuals to attract potential customers during peak sales periods.

Offer promotions

Offering promotions and discounts during peak sales periods help to incentivize customers to make purchases and increase sales volume.

Provide exceptional customer service

First impressions are everything and exceptional customer service is pivotal in the customer experience. Ensure your brand has the resources and staffing to provide first-class customer service during peak sales periods, which can help increase customer loyalty and drive repeat business.

In Summary

By using these strategies, your brand can better predict eCommerce seasonality and plan ahead to optimize marketing strategies, inventory management, and overall sales performance to maintain a steady ROI throughout the year.

Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22nd with the intention to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote environmental protection. The first was held in 1970 and was organized to bring attention to environmental problems such as pollution, deforestation, and the depletion of natural resources.

Since then, Earth Day has become a global event that is celebrated in more than 190 countries. People celebrate by participating in various activities. These activities include tree planting, beach cleanups, and recycling drives to promote environmental conservation and sustainability. The theme for Earth Day 2023 is “Restore Our Earth,” which focuses on the need to repair the damage done to the planet’s ecosystems and biodiversity.

What is the purpose of Earth Day?

Earth Day was created to bring attention to the urgent need to address environmental problems. These problems include pollution, deforestation, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources.

The day serves as a reminder that we all have a role to play in protecting our planet and creating a sustainable future. It is a day to educate people about the impact that our actions have on the environment. Additionally, to encourage them to take action to reduce their carbon footprint, conserve resources, and promote sustainability.

By raising awareness about environmental issues, Earth Day helps mobilize individuals, communities, and governments to protect our planet. It also provides an opportunity for people to come together to celebrate the beauty and diversity of our natural world and to renew their commitment to environmental stewardship.

How to celebrate Earth Day?

Earth Day is celebrated in many different ways, depending on the country and the community. Some popular activities include:

  1. Planting trees: Tree-planting events are a popular way to celebrate Earth Day. Trees are essential for filtering the air, preventing soil erosion, and providing habitats for wildlife.
  2. Litter clean-ups: Many communities organize litter clean-up events to help keep their streets, parks, and waterways clean.
  3. Recycling drives: Earth Day is the ideal occasion to encourage recycling and reduce waste. Many communities organize recycling drives to collect recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, and glass.
  4. Environmental education: The day provides the opportunity to learn and teach more about environmental issues and the importance of sustainability. Many schools and community organizations organize environmental education events such as workshops, lectures, and film screenings.
  5. Sustainable living: It is a great time to commit to living a more sustainable lifestyle. Some people use Earth Day to make changes in their daily habits, such as reducing their energy consumption, eating more plant-based foods, or using eco-friendly products.
  6. Advocacy and activism: Earth Day is also a time to advocate for environmental policies and take action to address climate change. Many organizations use this day to promote environmental awareness and encourage people to speak out about issues that affect our planet.

The post What Are The Key Components Of A Successful Landing Page appeared first on Corso.

Specifically designed to drive user engagement and conversion, landing pages are remarkably effective in getting your customers from A, to your desired B. Whether you’re trying to convert visitors into leads or customers using subscriptions, forms, or purchases, landing pages streamline the process to guide your users to the end goal. To keep this journey from A to B as seamless and simple as possible for maximum effectiveness, it’s crucial to keep your landing page clutter-free. So what should we include on a landing page? We’ve done the groundwork and narrowed it down to 5 Key Components Of A Great Landing Page.

A Concise and Clear Headline

The headline on your landing page is the first thing your visitors will see, therefore it needs to be concise and convey the main benefit or value proposition of the product or service. Additionally, selecting copy that evokes excitement is a great way to nudge your customers through the page to your desired conversion.

However, a concise headline can only say so much. Its sole purpose is to grab the attention of your potential customers and your subheading steps in to convince them to stay. A persuasive subheading can be either an extension of your headline or a separate message to support your heading.

Throughout your heading, subheading, and copy on your landing page, use strong keywords to help improve your SEO, as landing pages can play a key role in overall SEO strategy. In addition, strong keywords are, in general, the words that your customer will immediately recognize.

Attention Grabbing Visuals

Visual information is processed much faster and more efficiently by our brains than text or any other information. For this reason, high-quality visuals are imperative for your landing page. Visuals also allow visitors to better understand what you are offering and the context as to why your potential customer should convert. With the help of VR, these visuals can allow customers to see how your product could fit into their life and is another great tool to increase conversions.

Whether you use video or photos, it’s important to ensure they are high-quality and represent your product, so customers know exactly what to expect. This also helps your landing page to look professional and well-polished which increases brand trust. Similar to the headline, evoking emotion and excitement through your visuals is another way to convert your lead.

A Strong And Prominent Call-to-Action

The ultimate goal of every landing page is to convert customers and, to achieve this, you must clearly communicate what action you want them to take. A strong and prominent call-to-action (CTA) does just that.

The CTA is the most important part of your landing page, so it’s paramount that it’s attention-grabbing and uses clear direct copy that tells the user exactly what you want them to do. CTA placement is also key. It needs to be visible but you also want to be tactical where you place it within the users’ journey. If it is placed too early, customers will not know enough about the product or action that you want them to take and are less likely to convert.

Depending on your landing page type, your CTA can be optimized to capture information from potential leads, convert sales and use it as part of your return path to increase customer lifetime value.

Social Proof

Social proof is impressively persuasive and with the rapid increase and success in influencer marketing, it’s not hard to see why. Customer testimonials, reviews, trust ratings, and both customer and influencer social media posts are all forms of social proof. These effectively help to build trust and bridge the gap between the brand and the customer. Highlighting previous customers who have already purchased your product and benefitted from it, also helps new customers to validate their decision and, especially for those offers that are limited, can help to create a fear of missing out on the product or offer.

Relevant Offer

Special and relevant offers are one of the simplest ways to nudge your customers to convert. Once a visitor has reached your landing page and navigated through the above, an offer helps to increase conversion rates. With this offer, reiterate that it is limited and cannot be found anywhere else to help them to convert on the spot. Bundles, BOGO, free gifts and discounts are just a few effective examples you can add to your landing page.

Less really is more when it comes to landing pages. However, it is key that every heading, subheading, visual, copy, and CTA is optimized to provide maximum information and value about the product, its purpose and benefits.

Which brand has your favorite landing page? Let us know in the comments below.

Powering millions of merchants in over 175 countries around the globe, Shopify is one of the leaders in providing a platform that delivers a better experience for both brands and consumers.

In addition to being a platform that’s simple to use, create and customize, Shopify also has a plethora of apps to enhance both the consumer and merchant experience. To save you the scroll through the 8000 plus apps available, we’ve shortlisted our top 5 that we love and the best ways to use them.

Gorgias

Good customer service can be the difference between gaining or losing a customer. In fact, only 1 in 5 consumers would forgive a poor customer service experience with a brand, and 78% of consumers abandon their purchase due to a bad experience.

Enter Gorgias.

Gorgias has created an app that centralizes all customer service tickets in one place from all channels with all of the customer’s information displayed. This makes it far quicker and easier to reply to. This includes tickets from social media, websites, email, live chat, and text. This centralized communication also allows merchants to edit orders from the help desk, again, increasing efficiency and saving time. There’s also the option for response templates and automation to assist in quick responses to frequently asked questions.

Click here for a simple step-by-step guide to integrating Gorgias with Corso Green Shipping Protection on Shopify.

Recharge

According to UnivDatos Market Insights, the eCommerce subscription market is estimated to reach $2.64 trillion by 2028. Recharge is allowing brands to utilize this market by easily adding subscriptions to your site on any product. It allows customers to manage their own subscriptions, payments and notifies them directly about upcoming shipments, fees or any issues. Adding this option and giving the consumer the freedom to manage their subscription, helps to boost average order value and customer lifetime value.

Learn how to set up Recharge with Corso Green Shipping Protection in just 3 simple steps here.

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is a must-have for every eCommerce store. It’s a platform that utilizes the customer’s demographic and order information from Shopify and other tools to deliver more personal and relevant communications through email. With this you can easily set up A/B testing, customize campaigns, segment customers, make product recommendations and send stock and special offer notifications. Klaviyo isn’t just limited to email either. With the increase in SMS marketing, Klaviyo has expanded to SMS too, all from the same platform.

If you already have and love Klaviyo and want to exclude Green Shipping Protection from your abandoned cart campaigns, click here.

Recart

The rise of SMS marketing has taken the eCommerce world by storm with a 98% open rate, compared to the 20% for emails. With this direct form of communication, Recart has focused on making it simpler for brands to reach consumers. The platform provides simple SMS marketing with templates and segmented campaigns, automated conversational flows and abandonment automated flows.

Corso

We couldn’t complete the list without including Corso Green Shipping Protection. In 2022, 49 million Americans had at least one package stolen according to security.org. Not to mention the number of packages lost or damaged during transit. This is truly a nightmare for both the merchant and consumer and takes time, which could be better spent elsewhere and can leave the consumer frustrated.

Corso exists to remove this problem by offering shipping protection on orders. It is a small check box at the checkout consumers can opt to add or remove from their order and costs around 2% of the cart value. If an issue arises, such as the package being lost, damaged, or stolen, the customer can reach out to Corso directly and have the order replaced immediately, at no extra charge to them, or the merchant. The team works quickly to resolve issues within 24 hours. In addition to protecting packages, the Green Shipping Protection add-on also offsets the carbon associated with the last-mile shipment, helping both brands and consumers to do their part for the planet.

It‘s time to get excited! Corso has recently announced a strategic integration with BigCommerce.

What does this integration mean?

This integration will allow brands to easily add the Corso experience to their checkout, giving them access to powerful features and tools that can help them improve their post-purchase experiences.

This partnership is a major step forward for BigCommerce brands, and we are thrilled to see the possibilities that Corso and BigCommerce can offer.

BigCommerce
With this integration, brands can ensure that their customers receive an exceptional postpurchase experience and promote sustainability.

Getting started with the Corso app

Download the app

Adding Corso to your BigCommerce store could not be easier. Start in the BigCommerce App marketplace and search for “Corso Green Shipping Protection” or simply click HERE. On the app listing page, click “Install”.

Once the app is installed, we add a “Sustainability & Coverage” product. This product will be added as a line item to your customer’s order should they choose to add Green Shipping Protection. The multiple variations represent pricing tiers based on the order total. These tiers determine how much the customer will pay for Green Shipping Protection.

Authorize Billing

After installation of the app, a member of our team will send you a billing request which will authorize Corso to bill for Green Shipping Protection. In summary, here is how billing works: your customers add Green Shipping Protection as a line item on the order and you collect the money. Then every week, Corso will send an invoice via Stripe. The total of the bill is the sum of Green Shipping Protection line items, minus any reorders or refunds that we processed on your behalf.

For example, if 100 of your customers purchase Green Shipping Protection for $1, you would collect the $100. Then let’s say there is a $75 reorder. We would process that request and place a reorder through the BigCommerce API. As a result, we would deduct $75 from the bill and only charge you the remaining $25. Of course, you get to keep the $75 for the reorder.

Enable the widget

After the app has been installed and the billing request has been authorized, the last step is to enable the Green Shipping Protection widget. By default, the widget will be placed on the cart page just above the checkout button. However, you can place multiple instances of the widget wherever you want. To do this, all you have to do is place a simple code snippet in the location where you want the widget to be displayed. Here is the snippet:

<corso-cart-widget></corso-cart-widget>

Most brands typically place the Green Shipping Protection widget right above the checkout button so it is visible for the customer to decide if they don’t want to add it to their order.

You’re all set!

Your customers are now ready to start adding Green Shipping Protection to their orders to protect their package against damage, theft, or loss and reduce the carbon on their shipment.
